Meet the Teacher

Hey Y'all!

My name is Natasha and I am the author behind A Crazy Texas Teacher. I am currently in my second year of teaching at an amazing school with some wonderful little kiddos. I currently live in Fort Worth, Texas with my cat, Burley, who is loads of fun!

I earned my Bachelors in Early Childhood through 6th Grade ESL Elementary Education in May of 2016 and got hired at a hiring fair about two weeks later!

I love to cook and design things for my classroom when I am not at school. PowerPoint is where it's at! I also frequent Instagram when I need ideas. You can follow my account @crazytexasteacher to see my photos!

Thanks so much for visiting and reading a little bit about me!

It's Almost Over....

My first year in Kindergarten is coming to a close. As I prepare to shut my classroom down for the summer, I am reflecting on the year. It was such a whirlwind, to say the least. I feel like I never really got a chance to stop and really breathe before I had to hit the ground running again and again. I never imagined I would love teaching a grade so much, but I truly do. Kindergarten is my place. Don't get me wrong, this job is HARD. It is so hard, but it is also so very rewarding. I spend a year molding children who have little to no school experience into students who love learning and drink whatever knowledge you pour into them. They love to read, they're excited about math, and they come in everyday ready to see what we're going to learn next. I LOVE this job! As I make my end of ...

Upcoming Book Studies!!

Hello dear friends! I have not posted in FOREVER!!! Life has been crazy busy and I finally feel like I can breathe a little. I am at the point where I am already making changes in my classroom for next year and reflecting on my teaching to improve for my next group of kiddos. I saw a post somewhere that really resonated with my feelings - this is the perfect time to try something new with kids you already know and since it's new for them, it helps with your classroom management to mix things up a little! I am finally taking time to actually read through two books that have been sitting around my apartment, BEGGING to be opened and for more time to be spent reading instead of skimming! Both are by the amazing Debbie Diller! I am still waiting to get my hands on her Math Workstations book, and will do another book study on that one! For now, I am going to end this post with the chapter breakdown. I will start with Spaces and Places so that I can figure out any changes BEFORE this...
